SERPENTINES! - A new future for Europe's regions

The wars on Corona and in Ukraine put fresh pressure on the European constellation. The continent remains a field lab for rethinking post- and supranational political architecture. As Menasse said: ‘Homeland = region, Nation = fiction'. In our event, we debate citizens-driven research results that point towards a new cross-border, horizontal, decentralised texture of 'serpentine regions'. We discuss three scenarios for the years to come. Speakers: Jan Bierhoff - strategist and senior researcher, coined the term Serpentine Regions. Susanna Cafaro - Professor of European Law at the University of Salento, directs the Supranational Democracy Dialogues. Ulrike Guérot - Founder of the European Democracy Lab, with countless contributions to Europe's political past and future to her credit
