Strengthening regional cooperation – What role can Macro-Regional Strategies play?

3/4 of EU countries are members of macro-regional strategies. What are they? Our panel discussion explores this often underappreciated aspect of Cohesion Policy. Using the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region as an example, we showcase how macro-regional cooperation has evolved since its inception in 2009 and what is needed to ensure it remains relevant in the future. In particular, we want to foster greater future synergies with other regional cooperation initiatives, like sea-basin strategies.
