This session explores how the growing network of EU local councillors is helping to bring the EU closer to citizens on the ground. By allowing communication about the EU at local level and encouraging active dialogue on EU issues in towns, cities and regions, this initiative supports the development of a truly European public sphere. The debate will include the voice of representatives from EC, EP and CoR and will focus on key questions: how is the new network enabling elected local politicians to collaborate across borders? What challenges, and success stories are emerging from this shared effort?
