European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity 2026 and European Diversity Month 2026

The European Commission is organising the European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity Award for the fifth time. It seeks to recognise best practices that promote diversity and contribute to inclusive policies. It is open for applications from all EU local authorities. In four editions, it has attracted more than 270 applications. The award complements the annual European Diversity Month, which celebrates efforts from all organisations – including public institutions, private companies, non-profit organisations and local authorities – promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and across our societies. All organisations across the EU are called on to take action in May.
