European Week of Regions and Cities

Innovative EPP-led cities building a sustainable and resilient future for our citizens

Around 75% of EU citizens live in cities and urban areas, with this figure predicted to rise to 80% by 2050. This political panel discussion will explore how EPP-led cities across the EU are promoting innovative and sustainable practices in areas such as housing, transport/mobility, energy and AI/digitalisation. These efforts are crucial if we are to significantly lower our carbon footprint, allowing us to not only meet climate objectives, but also to increase our resilience in the face of mounting external threats. EPP-led local and regional authorities are planning and implementing innovative solutions to improve people’s lives both in the present day and as we go into the future.
