Cross-border Energy Communities: Building Energy Cooperation across Borders

The CBEC project encourages the development of (quasi-)cross-border energy communities in EU border regions. Coordinated by AEBR and MOT and based on the EU Handbook on cross-border energy communities, the project will support 7 pilot projects with funding and tailored technical assistance by REScoop.eu, including workshops, stakeholder mapping and expert coaching. The communities will bring together citizens, SMEs and local authorities across borders to foster cooperation on energy-related activities, promoting responsible ways to produce and consume energy to enhance local energy transition (car-sharing, photovoltaic, biomass initiatives etc.). The call for proposals is currently open.
