Reporting

Session summary

Discussions at this year's event showed a strong interest for practical insights on how EU research contributes to local and regional development. Representatives from municipalities and public administrations were particularly interested in research results packs relevant to their countries and thematic areas such as urban planning, inclusive mobility, sustainable tourism and preservation of cultural heritage.

Having such a varied audience resulted in many different interests. Some found it very useful to know that we provide a centralised space for open data from across all Europe because they worked with high level data from multiple countries. Others were happy to know that we offer data at a regional level that can be easily filtered down.

Participants were also interested to learn how entrepreneurs can enjoy fair competition through services like TED, the official central platform providing free access to business opportunities from the EU and beyond, and the Public Procurement Data Space.
