European Youth Capitals - Turning brain drain upside down

The European Youth Capitals title boosts democratic participation through young people’s empowerment in their local communities. How can the city become more attractive to its own young people? Brain drain and demographic decline is a challenge faced by various European Youth Capitals. One of the objectives of Lviv, European Youth Capital 2025, is to guarantee conditions for its youth to stay and thrive in the local community. Tromsø, European Youth Capital 2026, will introduce its example of a Nordic city able to retain and attract young talent. Tine Radinja/Emil Boc, Mayor of Škofja Loka/Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, and CoR members, will bring the European perspective to the topic.
