Drones are on the rise. While industry is pushing forward with Urban Air Mobility (UAM) services, and transport is slowly but surely expanding into the lower air space, it's doubtful if cities and citizens are ready for this. How can we approach this complex topic and what can cities and regions do to establish a responsible, sustainable and acceptable urban air mobility ecosystem? Drones have many benefits in terms of efficiency, cost reduction and sustainability, but also raise concerns about safety and noise. Cities lack planning and management tools. Six cities from the Baltic Sea Region have been working together for three years in the CITYAM project to improve this.
