Bridging borders: Interreg IPA, the power tool for enlargement

Interreg IPA quietly builds bridges before EU external borders shift, preparing candidate countries not just to join the EU, but to act like Member States long before accession. It does this by funding real projects with real impact: smarter institutions, cleaner rivers, stronger communities, closer neighbours, etc., all rooted in EU standards and values. This session makes the case that Interreg IPA is not just about cooperation projects; it is diplomacy in action, policy alignment in progress and public trust in the making. Through real-world case studies and expert insights, participants will find out more on how Interreg IPA delivers results that accession negotiations alone can’t.
