Agriculture, which employs 8.7 million people and spans nearly half of the EU’s land, currently faces numerous environmental, climate-related and financial challenges. One of the most pressing is the degradation of soils due to common farming practices, prompting an urgent need to promote healthier and regenerative approaches. Multitel, coordinator of the Interreg NWE Smart Carbon Farming project, will present how this transnational initiative helps farmers regenerate soil, cut greenhouse gas emissions and preserve revenues. With 15 pilot farms, it shows how tailored carbon monitoring and management systems adapted to regional conditions can promote resilient agriculture.
