This workshop for city leaders and policy and finance experts will, through scene setting and focused discussions, explore how cities can leverage city networks to develop tailored financing solutions. Responding to cities’ interest in diversifying their access to finance for the implementation of sustainable development plans, we will build on the EU toolbox of financial instruments. We will examine tools such as de-risking instruments, green and sustainability-linked bonds, and public-private partnerships. We will also reflect on how stakeholder participation in urban planning can support the leveraging of private investment.
