Integrated Clean Energy Transition Strategies – A replacement for or advancement beyond SECAP? The innovative approach of the PLENTY-Life project

The PLENTY-Life project introduces a novel planning approach integrating the energy, urban and spatial domains to support long-term clean energy strategies for small and medium-sized cities, aligned with future socio-economic and technological trends. The workshop will showcase the co-creation process and the key role of cities as need-owners, co-designers, data providers and facilitators of stakeholder engagement. The session presents the planning method, challenges in data provision and successful case studies from European pilots, highlighting progress beyond the traditional SECAP approach and demonstrating the diversity of data needs and a graded data-gathering approach.
