European Week of Regions and Cities

Visualising Communities’ Stakes in the Just Transition: Policy, Plausible, and Preferred Futures

This stand will share insights from the Horizon Europe project Democratising jUst Sustainability Transitions on how to better engage communities in policymaking for place-based sustainability transitions. The stand will exhibit designs co-created in four Regional Futures Literacy Labs (RFLLs). In the form of a triptych, each design shows how communities envision their region’s likely and desired futures and how these compare to policy futures. The visualisations will be complemented with videos, audio material, and project literature for a range of audiences that demonstrate how methods like RFLLs can be used to engage local people and make the transition more inclusive and effective.
