- Tytti Määttä is the Regional Mayor of North Savo, Finland, and represents the regions of East and North Finland at the national and European level. She is dedicated to promoting sustainable regional development, strengthening infrastructure, and ensuring the vitality of both rural and urban areas. With a strong background in municipal leadership, she previously served as a city manager in a town near the Russian border before taking on her current role. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Senior Adviser at the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities, focusing on small municipalities and rural development, and chaired Finland’s national sparsely populated rural areas network for many years. In addition to her expertise in rural policy, Määttä has contributed to urban development as a former member of the Turku City Council – Turku being Finland’s sixth largest city. Tytti Määttä holds a Master of Social Sciences degree in Political Science, with a specialization in political systems, politics, and the European Union.
