- Thorsten has dedicated the last 20 years of his professional life to European cooperation, EU programme management, regional development and innovation policies. Since 2018, he has been managing the Policy Learning Platform of the Interreg Europe Programme, an innovative tool facilitating tailored policy learning between European regions and cities. He was born Berlin and raised 200 meters from the Berlin wall, the “old iron curtain”. Now faced by the “new iron curtain” along Europe’s border with Russia and Belarus, he and his team are strongly committed to supporting the Eastern border regions in teaming up for new development perspectives.
