- Antonella Sberna (born in 1982) graduated in Public Relations in Milan and gained professional experience at the European Parliament in Brussels and at the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles (USA). After eight years working at the Italian Senate, she continued her career until 2023 in a communication and public affairs agency. She is married and the mother of three daughters.
Elected three times to the City Council of Viterbo, she served as councillor responsible for social services, youth and family policies, and relations with the European Union. In June 2024 she was elected to the European Parliament with nearly 50,000 votes.
She is a full member of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI) and of the Special Committee on Combating the Housing Crisis (HOUS), and a substitute member of the Committee on the Environment, Climate and Food Safety (ENVI). On 16 July 2024, she was elected Vice-President of the European Parliament, with responsibilities including interreligious dialogue, digital transformation, relations with Africa and the Balkans, and replacing the President for contacts with local and regional authorities.
In her parliamentary work, she is particularly committed to strengthening regional development strategies, fostering economic and social cohesion, and tackling the housing crisis across Europe. She advocates policies that reduce territorial disparities and enhance competitiveness and equal opportunities in all Member States.
