European Week of Regions and Cities

Better Balanced Tourism in Europe's Regions

The debate will profile regional policies and strategies for redistributing tourism flows in Europe's regions, encouraging visitors to discover new destinations, easing pressure on overtourism. How can future Cohesion Policy programming take account of the urgent need to support Europe's regions with this issue? We will discuss the European Tourism Strategy out in 2026 and the CoR Opinion on sustainable and resilient tourism. After the political debate, the second session will provide some regional case studies.
