European Week of Regions and Cities

Creating Circular Communities in Europe: Showcasing Germany's first Zero-Waste-Agency

Established by the Berlin Senate Department for the Environment (SenMVKU) in partnership with Berlin's municipal waste management company (BSR), this agency has been pioneering innovative ideas and practices for daily waste avoidance. Since its inception, ZWA has launched a variety of impactful projects and developed new resources, including Zero-Waste-Action Weeks supported by extensive communication campaigns, the inaugural Berlin Zero-Waste-Monitoring, and a dedicated Task Force operating across Berlin’s districts. Explore the concepts that are not only supporting Berlin to become a resource-saving community but also could have the potential to inspire similar changes across Europe.

Session summary

We had 5 external visitors, which we were happy about. However, of course we hoped for more participants and more communication on the side events from the Close to you programme. The estimation is that up to 1 participant was registered because of the official programme. The other ones registered because of our posts in LinkedIn groups etc.
