
We are almost there, after months of preparations it’s time to experience the EURegionsWeek 2025! Join us in Brussels from 13 to 15 October and participate in one of 200 sessions taking place.
Here are some of the highlights to look forward to:
Opening session
Mon 13/10/2025, 14:00 - 16:00 CET
The Opening Session will launch the #EURegionsWeek with a forward-looking political discussion on the future of cohesion policy with regions at the centre. It will focus on strategic priorities and long-term vision, driving cohesion and sustainable growth across Europe.
High-level session: EU Agenda for Cities - Shaping Europe’s Urban Future

An interesting panel of speakers will explore key challenges facing cities across areas such as housing, climate action, digitalisation, mobility, social inclusion and equality. With the ‘EU agenda for cities’ in mind, mayors from EU’s major cities will discuss their support needs and strategies on these topics to ensure a sustainable future for cities in the EU.
High-level session: Eastern Border Regions = EU’s Border, A Pact for the Eastern Border Regions
Tue 14/10/2025, 14:30 - 16:00 CET
This session will explore ideas for a concerted approach to support the EU’s eastern border regions most affected by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. There will also be live testimonials from the people and places concerned, and the analysis of international experts from the World Bank and Interreg Europe.
High-level session: Fostering Vibrant and Resilient Regions: Open Dialogue on Ensuring an Effective Right to Stay

This session will explore how to ensure the dynamism of EU regions while addressing the pressing challenges posed by demographic change. Leading EU and international figures will discuss strategies to help regions adapt and thrive, ensuring everyone can build a prosperous life in the place they call home.
Award Ceremony for the Megalizzi-Niedzielski prize for aspiring journalists

This prize aims to reward and encourage promising European journalists who share enthusiasm for the European project.
The Cohesion Alliance: A strengthened post 2027 cohesion policy for a more democratic Europe

This session will address the long-term EU budget post 2027: how far does the European Commission's proposal foster economic, social and territorial cohesion.
REGIOSTARS 2025 award ceremony and reception

The REGIOSTARS Awards celebrate Europe’s most innovative, impactful, and inspiring regional projects. Registration is considered complete only once the user profile has been fully completed, including all required personal data. This concerns sessions coordinators, speakers, moderators and all participants.
Please make sure all user profiles are filled out as soon as possible and by 30 September at the latest.
No one will be granted access to the building without a valid registration.
Unlike previous years, on-site registration will not be possible due to security measures. Please make sure to register in advance.
