- Carolina Pietyra – Director of the Krakow Festival Office (KBF), an institution that has been organizing Krakow’s flagship festivals for over 20 years, including the Krakow Film Music Festival, Sacrum Profanum, Misteria Paschalia, Conrad Festival, and Miłosz Festival. Additionally, KBF is responsible for organizing iconic city events such as Wianki in Krakow, coordinating cultural programs like Kraków UNESCO City of Literature and the Krakow Film Commission, and publishing cultural media including Karnet and Czas Literatury. Since 2023, KBF has also been managing the Observatory for Cultural Trends as well as the social and cultural offerings of Krakow’s Wesoła Creative District. In Wesoła, Carolina designs and leads the placemaking process accompanying the revitalization of this urban space.
Carolina is a strategist and service designer by profession. She specializes in change management, innovation design, organizational culture building, user experience design, and digital marketing tools. She has collaborated with and supported the development of numerous institutions and companies, including Credit Agricole, Danone, Michelin, Capgemini, the Tatra National Park, the National Bank of Poland, the City of Krakow, and the Marshal's Office of the Małopolska Region. She is particularly committed to human-centered design methodologies, especially in the areas of ethnographic research, co-creation, and placemaking.
She is a member of the Program Council of the Open Eyes Art Festival and the Council of the Krakow Tourism Alliance. She also lectures at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and hosts the KBF Bliżej podcast, offering a cultural perspective from Krakow.
