Empowering Climate Action: A New Era of Local Resilience in Porto’s Metropolitan Region

The Porto Metropolitan Area is developing a new generation of climate change adaptation plans based on local scientific knowledge. The Climate Empowerment AMP 2030 project will install eight climatological stations, create dedicated risk alerts and develop the capacity of the 17 municipalities to act based on accurate and up-to-date information. This coordinated effort promotes a more resilient, greener and lower-carbon territory, in alignment with national and European targets on climate adaptation.
