European Week of Regions and Cities

What Makes Cities Work? Participatory Lab on Rethinking Innovation, Belonging and EU Funding in City Futures

How do EU funding frameworks shape our understanding of what cities are - and can become? How can conditions be supported for locally rooted innovation to emerge? Through facilitated dialogue and networking, we invite participants to engage in a critical conversation on these questions. Copenhagen (DK) and Stavanger (NO) have both been involved in New European Bauhaus lighthouse projects and speakers from these two cities will make short thematic presentations. Anchored in the NEB values of sustainable, beautiful and inclusive spaces, we will explore the social and historical layers that make cities thrive. Ultimately, the session aims to contribute to the emerging EU Agenda for Cities.
