Regions strengthening the EU defence industry: Dual-use for a resilient European defence innovation ecosystem

Regions and cities are key partners in addressing EU security and defence challenges. This session will explore how regional actions can strengthen a resilient European defence industry. Partner regions will discuss dual-use innovation, SME support, the defence innovation ecosystem’s strategies for supply chain resilience and industrial defence policy. The session will highlight the role of regional innovation agencies and foster interactive debate. Through political insights, success stories and discussion, it will show how regional actions contribute to European security, competitiveness and strategic autonomy. The session aims to produce a position paper outlining key recommendations.
