Local event held in Ignalina, Lithuania

This year's first local event part of the European Week of Regions and Cities was held on 8 May in Ignalina, Lithuania. 

The event was a Reflecting on Europe citizen's dialogue around the theme Cohesion Policy – Experience And Vision For The Future, and gathered around 50 local politicians, local entrepreneurs, youth representatives, NGO’s and communities. Two Members of the European Committee of the Regions took part in the dialogue, Arnoldas Abramavičius (EPP) from Lithuania and Andris Jaunsleinis (ALDE) from Latvia. 

Held in the framework of the 30th anniversary of the Cohesion Policy and of the #CohesionAlliance, the event was organised by the Association of Local Authorities in Lithuania, in partnership with the Ignalina district municipality and the Utena Regional Development Council. 

This year, a call was launched for independent local events in May to June, in addition to the local events organised in September to December as part of Regional Partnerships.
