European Week of Regions and Cities

Towards long-term solutions for displaced people from Ukraine

The Russian war of aggression has created un unprecedented movement of displaced persons from Ukraine. In response, the Temporary Protection Directive was activated to allow people fleeing Ukraine to get access to jobs, education, welfare and healthcare. Cities have been on the frontline of EU support. What has worked well? What key lessons have been learned? Discussions will draw on FRA’s report on challenges and local good practices for welcoming displaced people from Ukraine.
