Boosting Affordable Housing with Cohesion Policy Funds and Financial Instruments

Access to affordable housing is a growing challenge across Europe. To address this, the European Commission and the European Investment Bank have developed a new financial instrument model to help public authorities invest in affordable homes. The model blends public and private funding, combining financial instruments with grants, to make investments financially viable. It is flexible and can be adapted to national and regional needs. Additionally, a speaker from one Member State will share their experience and plans on how to boost support and increase funding for affordable housing as part of the Cohesion Policy mid-term review.
