In the current changing geopolitical scenario, outermost regions can play a key role for the EU thanks to their unique geostrategic location across the world. As announced in the mid-term review of cohesion policy by the Executive Vice-President Raffaele Fitto, an updated EU strategy for the outermost regions will be adopted by the College. This workshop will explore with high level participants how to better align the unique assets of these regions for the Union and their specific constraints and challenges in the frame of broader EU objectives, the political priorities for the 2024-2029 mandate and the discussions for the next EU budget post-2027.
