Where it Matters: Investing in Regions to Shape the Future of Health in Europe

This policy debate will explore how a strong cohesion policy – better aligned with dedicated health funding under the next MFF – can more effectively help regional and local authorities improve health systems, reduce inequalities and drive innovation across Europe. With key competences in care delivery, regions are natural laboratories for health innovation – within and across borders – and essential to translating EU ambitions into real impact. Drawing on INTERREG and other place-based initiatives, EU and regional leaders will discuss how to shape a future-proof ‘cohesion deal for health’ – resilient, inclusive and rooted in mutual learning and effective policy implementation.
