Energy transition, circular economy, agriculture. Biochar: a challenge for innovation and climate

Biochar represents an opportunity and an emblematic case in the current context. The workshop addresses how the carbon cycle is crucial and recalcitrant carbon fixation in char represents an opportunity to store carbon and return it to the soil, thus counteracting, in one action, climate change and depletion of organic matter in the soil and opening up interesting economic opportunities for agriculture in the carbon credit market. Another crucial issue is the recovery of critical raw materials.
