With 17 municipalities, the Porto Metropolitan Area is a region with a rich cultural heritage, a diverse economy, a strategic geographical location, and though just arrived in the Brussels arena, a relevant player in the EU. In recent years, Culture and Heritage have been areas of strong investment, consolidating the reinforcement of cooperation networks with many initiatives and activities that contribute to the region's social and economic development, crucial to territorial cohesion. The stand primary focus was on the several cultural initiatives that the Porto Metropolitan Area has been actively working on, as well as a discussion on the new road transport system – UNIR. The networking opportunities to connect with other regions to collaborate in the upcoming EU funding calls were also a key topic during the EU Regions Week 2023.
