New hoRIzon for your region with Horizon Europe

The European Commission’s Valorisation Services offer myriad opportunities to tap into state-of-the-art innovations from EU-funded research and innovation programmes and beyond. We will engage with visitors with tailored opportunities, showcasing tools such as the Horizon Results Booster and the new EU innovation marketplace where regional projects can receive assistance on how to set up a business, find partners or discover the R&I regional landscape through the Horizon Dashboard.

Session summary

The stand focused on funding opportunities (Funding & Tender Portal); data and statistics (Horizon Dashboard) from the very first framework programme for research and innovation to where we are today with Horizon Europe; performance of innovation systems across regions (Regional Innovation Scoreboard); matchmaking and visibility opportunities (Horizon Results Platform); and bridging the gap between research and impact through the Booster services. The participants showed a lot of interest in the available opportunities and frequently remarked that they previously were not aware about the extent of available information & support readily available via this ecosystem. DG for Research & Innovation colleagues were able to engage in meaningful conversations with a wide range of stakeholders ranging from local authorities to SMEs, diplomats, students, and experts across the world – from the EU and beyond, incl. New Zealand, Türkiye, Pakistan and many others. Overall, the event demonstrated that R&I matters also beyond our “usual suspects” in the domain, and it is important to keep the conversation going if we want to maximize our R&I potential for the benefit of regional authorities and stakeholders.
