
Nadia Pellefigue

- Nadia Pellefigue spent her childhood in a working-class district of Toulouse, which inspired her early political commitment against all forms of discrimination. After a double Masters in Public Law and Sciences Po, she worked for ten years in the European Parliament. She was elected to the Regional Council in 2013 with a first delegation in finance, higher education and research. In 2015, she renewed her regional commitment to Carole Delga, the first woman president of the Occitanie region, and became vice-president in charge of economic development. She set up the first regional business support programmes, paving the way for the adoption of the Occitanie Green Deal in 2022, the first regional Green Deal in Europe. Now Vice-President for Higher Education, Research, European Affairs and International Relations, Nadia Pellefigue is proud to be one of France's 24 representatives at the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels and Vice-President of the AFFCRE. In 2020, she founded 'Une Nouvelle Énergie', a citizen’s movement for progress and participatory democracy in Toulouse. She is also deeply involved in the development of policies in favour of gender equality, a long-standing personal conviction. A key player in higher education and research, Nadia Pellefigue is a member of the Board of the University of Toulouse and other higher education, research and innovation institution’s boards. In 2023, she was elected President of the board of Directors of Sciences po, the political institute of Toulouse.
