Emil Boc

  • Mr Boc is the Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, the second-largest city in Romania, in terms of size and economic development. He is also the President of COTER Commission, European Committee of the Regions; co-rapporteur on the Future of Cohesion Policy, CoR rapporteur on Artificial Intelligence, former CoR rapporteur on Brain Drain in the EU and on Achieving the European Education Area by 2025 and European Strategy for Universities; member of A Soul for Europe Advisory Board. Emil Boc holds a PhD in Political Science. He is an associate professor at Babeş-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, awarded Honorary Degree of Doctor of Law from Michigan State University in East Lansing, U.S. Former Prime Minister of Romania (2008-2012), former President of the Democratic Liberal Party (2005-2012).
