European Week of Regions and Cities

Green transportation – a key component of sustainable regional development in Bucharest-Ilfov

Over the past years BIRDA have been supporting the improvement of public transportation in the Bucharest -Ilfov region. With significant allocations from EU funds to develop infrastructure and acquire trams and electric busses (plus trolleys), this investment has contributed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. This event will bring together beneficiaries, local authorities and experts to emphasise, once again, the challenges in and the benefits of public transportation.
