Beyond Pseudo-Participation: Empowering Youth Voices and Creating Child-Friendly Municipalities

Many young people avoid political discussions due to low democratic self-confidence. Others make their voices heard but experience pseudo-participation. Based on cases from Denmark, Hungary, Slovakia and Norway, this workshop lets participants explore ideas and good practices for the meaningful involvement of children and young people in democratic processes and decision-making, and stronger cooperation between young people and local and regional actors, services, and professionals.
