Creating systemic transparency: how mapping resource flows helps to identify circular business opportunities in rural regions

Southern German regions - Black Forest, Berchtesgadener Land and Chiemgau - are mapping regional resource flows to build transparency and advance rural circular economies. By evaluating local materials and conditions, tailored circular solutions for businesses can be identified. Atacama supports this with a digital tool that visualises flows and informs co-creation workshops where circular business cases are prototyped. Interregional exchange is key, enabling effective data collection and joint strategy development across all regions.
