Jose Enrique GARCILAZO

  • Current Deputy Head of Division for Regional Development and Multilevel Governance in the Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities at the OECD. He is also the Head of the Regional and Rural Unit. His work mainly focuses on analysing future opportunities and challenges brought by megatrends in OECD regions. Current projects aim at delivering rural well-being and rural innovation, elevating the role of rural policies in the transition to a low carbon economy, managing natural resource activities in rural regions and enhancing service delivery to address demographic challenges. Author of three books and a variety of articles, Jose Enrique has been at the OECD since 2005. He occasionally teaches at Science Po in the Masters of Public Affairs and in the Masters of International Relations program. Prior to the OECD, he obtained a PhD degree from the University of Texas at Austin at the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
