European Week of Regions and Cities

From Pilots to Scale: Cities Mission 2.0

How can cities turn bold ideas into real change? This session brings together mayors from Mission Label Cities — Espoo, Leuven, Gabrovo, Liepaja and Lodz — to show how cities can move from ambition to action. As Europe plans its next budget, we call for stronger city leadership, increased funding and practical tools to embed climate action into everyday life. The session highlights how the Cities Mission can help cities collaborate with businesses and universities to co-create and share new solutions. We will also present results from Marie Skłodowska-Curie research, where 10 doctoral researchers explore how cities and universities work together to advance digital and sustainable solutions.
