- Dr. Maciej Zathey – geographer, regional planner and university lecturer. Director of the Institute for Territorial Development (IRT) – an organizational unit of the Self-Government of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship – as well as a research and teaching associate at the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław.
His professional interests are closely linked to issues of regional development policy, spatial planning, cross-border cooperation, and energy policy. An important scientific and practice-oriented focus of his work lies in building cross-border relations and advancing cross-border planning.
Of particular note is his contribution to the development of the Joint Future Concept for the German-Polish Cross-Border Region.
