Right to stay and live in small municipalities: evidence and experiences on the role of built environment, social environment and public services

What can be done in small, depopulating municipalities, especially marginalised areas, to improve peoples’ right to stay and live the life they value? How can we provide evidence-based solutions? To address these crucial questions, we discuss three issues: - Built environment: what kind of spaces, buildings and infrastructure are necessary to improve the right to stay? - Social environment: what kind of social connections and experiences can be fostered to improve the right to stay? - Public services: what public services are essential to ensure the right to stay? The workshop will discuss official audits and impactful local responses to depopulation from Italy, Spain and Lithuania.
