  • Director, Lithuanian European Social Fund Agency
  • Laura Girlevičienė, Director of the European Social Fund Agency, Doctor of Social Sciences (Economics), has nearly two decades of experience in the administration of European Union funds. She began her professional path as a finance specialist, gaining a thorough understanding of the requirements established by EU legislation for the implementation of various funding instruments. This knowledge has provided a strong foundation for her later work in improving the efficiency of fund management. Since 2018, Laura has focused on the development and application of simplified cost options (SCOs). Over the years she has accumulated significant expertise in defining methodologies, assessing their applicability, and evaluating both their benefits and potential risks. Her contribution has been essential in integrating SCOs into Lithuania’s fund management system. Under her leadership, simplified cost options have become an established practice at the national level. The Lithuanian approach, shaped by her professional input, is today regarded as a valuable example for other EU member states.
